Jeanne Weeman was born on Staten Island, New York and is the third of four girls. She met "Bobby" when she was fifteen years old at her best friend's house. Six years later she married him and was married to him for forty-seven years when he unwillingly succumbed to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) on April 3, 2001.
Jeanne Weeman graduated from Hunter College where she studied to become a teacher. She also earned two master degrees, one in Education (M.S.), and one in Supervision and Administration (M.A.) with a 6th year certificate. She finished her teaching career as a Diagnostic Reading Teacher in NYC District 31 on Staten Island. She mostly taught children who were two years below reading level, and always, formally created a prescriptive/diagnostic/individualized reading program so that the classroom teacher, the para-professional, the reading volunteer, the private tutor, or the parent could creatively assist in raising the child's reading level.
The Reading Skills Booklet enclosed is a compilation of all reading skills that the author taught and reinforced so that the student would gain confidence; thus improve his/her self-image, and eventually achieve his/her reading level in a very meaningful way.
